About How Not to Get Rich
Shattock wakes up in the Republican era as the eldest Su son, armed with a Richest Man System: the more he loses, the more rewards he earns. Determined to fail, he throws money into schools, factories, heavy industry, and infrastructure—only to see his losses turn into national success. Every scheme to lose ends up boosting the economy and winning public praise. Years later, with a thriving nation and prosperous people, everyone hails Shattock as a hero… except Shattock himself, who quietly sheds tears.
